欧美日b大片 hosted an educational event, 鈥淢y Vote, My Choice鈥�, for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), autism, families, caregivers, and community members. The event held on October 15th focused on helping individuals with disabilities understand their voting rights and feel confident participating in elections.

鈥淢y Vote, My Choice鈥� was part of a statewide series organized by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Office of Human Rights. 欧美日b大片 was one of six provider agencies selected to host a presentation on voting rights and accessible participation in the electoral process.

The nonpartisan program covered a range of important topics, including why voting matters, who is eligible to vote, how to register, available voting methods, and how to locate a polling place. Participants also learned about accessible voting options and accommodations, voting rules for individuals under guardianship, and resources available to support voters with disabilities. An AutoMARK accessible voting machine was available for participants to practice using adaptive voting equipment.听

鈥淔or 欧美日b大片, hosting 鈥楳y Vote, My Choice鈥� reflected its ongoing commitment to promoting independence, self-advocacy, and inclusion,鈥� said Chris Starnes, who oversees 欧美日b大片鈥檚 Meaningful Whole Life (MWL) program. 鈥淭he event emphasized that people with disabilities have the right to exercise their constitutional rights, make informed decisions, and participate in their communities. It also provided an opportunity to raise awareness about the barriers and stigmas people with disabilities may encounter when exercising their right to vote.鈥�

In preparation for the October event, the MWL team conducted a practice session to help residents and members prepare for the Sept. 1 state primary. Participants worked through the voting process, including checking their voter registration status, identifying their polling locations, and developing individual plans for casting their ballots successfully. Starnes said the experience provided valuable insight into the questions and practical challenges voters may face, allowing the team to build on what they learned during the primary season and reinforce that knowledge through the October information session.

By helping individuals understand the voting process and plan for Election Day, 欧美日b大片 continues to support the people it serves in becoming active, informed participants in their communities. 鈥淢y Vote, My Choice鈥� reinforced an important message: Every eligible voter deserves the information, resources, and accessible opportunities needed to make their voice heard.

Fall in New England brings plenty of opportunities to enjoy the crisp air, colorful foliage, and simple pleasures of the season.听 For many, apple picking is a favorite autumn tradition.听 But for individuals with disabilities, this quintessential New England experience can be difficult to access when farms aren鈥檛 designed to accommodate everyone.

That鈥檚 why 欧美日b大片 was delighted to bring a group of participants from its Meaningful Whole Life (MWL) program to Tougas Family Farm in Northborough for a memorable day of apple picking and hayrides.

The outing offered participants an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the season, explore the orchard, and share a special experience with friends.听 For some, activities like apple picking and riding on a hay wagon are new adventures, making the day all the more meaningful.听 The experience was filled with the kind of moments that make fall so special: time outdoors, fresh apples, laughter, and the chance to try something new together.

Tougas Family Farm stands out for its commitment to accessibility, helping make these experiences possible for people with a range of mobility needs.

鈥溾�嬧�婽ougas Family Farm is the most ADA-accessible farm we鈥檝e ever seen,鈥� said Emily Rankin, a Meaningful Whole Life Champion. 鈥淭heir wheelchair-accessible hay wagon, complete with a lift, allows individuals with mobility challenges to enjoy a scenic ride through the orchards.鈥�

The annual outing reflects the mission of Edinburg鈥檚 Meaningful Whole Life program, which helps individuals pursue their interests, discover new experiences, and participate more fully in their communities.

At its heart, Meaningful Whole Life is about inclusion, accessibility, and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to take part in life鈥檚 everyday adventures.听 The trip to Tougas Family Farm was a wonderful reminder that with thoughtful accommodations and inclusive spaces, the simple pleasures of the season can be enjoyed by everyone.

欧美日b大片 is thrilled to announce that Stephanie Judy has been selected to receive the Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) Salute to Excellence Award in Administration and Finance, recognizing her outstanding contributions to 欧美日b大片 and the behavioral healthcare community.

Each year, the Association for Behavioral Healthcare hosts its Salute to Excellence, a special event honoring dedicated community behavioral health professionals from across the Commonwealth. The event brings together providers, advocates, and community leaders to recognize the compassion, commitment, resilience, and life-changing impact of the professionals working in behavioral healthcare.

The 2026 ABH Salute to Excellence Awards will be held on October 30, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boston Marriott Burlington in Burlington, Mass. The event is expected to bring together nearly 500 behavioral health providers, vendors, executives, legislators, and community leaders to celebrate the people who help strengthen and advance community-based behavioral healthcare.

Amelia Rose Earhart, professional speaker, pilot, author, and artist, will deliver the keynote address. Known for her global flight achievement and advocacy for women in aviation, Earhart will share lessons on resilience, adaptability, and pursuing dreams in the face of challenges.

The weather couldn鈥檛 have been better for this year鈥檚 Bedford Day Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 19, and 欧美日b大片 was proud to once again be part of this wonderful community tradition.

More than 20 Edinburg Center members and staff joined the Bedford Day parade, proudly marching through town alongside local organizations, community groups and neighbors. Our crew brought plenty of energy to the parade route, handing out candy, waving to the crowd and making some serious noise with our clappers!

After the parade, the celebration continued at the Bedford Day fair, where the community came together to enjoy great food, local entertainment, exhibits and plenty of activities. 欧美日b大片 booth was a popular stop throughout the day.听听 Visitors stopped by to pick up an assortment of fun free giveaways, including pumpkin scoops, Pop It stress balls, sunglasses, bubbles, magnet clips, and lanyards.

One of the biggest highlights was the Meaningful Whole Life art sale. The colorful and creative artwork showcased the amazing talent of the artists and attracted plenty of attention from Bedford Day visitors. It was a perfect opportunity to celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of the people we serve.

BEDFORD, Mass. 鈥� 欧美日b大片 announced today that, as part of its collaboration with the Massachusetts Psychosis Prevention Partnership (M3P), it has received a new four-year grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to continue and expand efforts to improve early identification and intervention for children, adolescents, and young adults at clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR-P) across Massachusetts.

M3P is a statewide initiative led by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) and funded through a combination of state and federal resources. The partnership brings together specialized programs and organizations from across the Commonwealth to strengthen the system of care for young people who may be at clinical high risk for developing psychosis.

In addition to 欧美日b大片, the partnership includes the Center for Early Detection Assessment and Response to Risk (CEDAR) at the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health; the Developmental Neuropsychiatry & Psychosis Program at Boston Children鈥檚 Hospital; RISE at Cambridge Health Alliance; STAR at McLean Hospital; RE-SET at Massachusetts General Hospital; and the Psychosis Early Action Team (PEAT) at River Valley Counseling Center/ServiceNet.

The award represents a continuation of the federal support that helped launch M3P in 2022.听 Through the initial SAMHSA grant, Massachusetts developed a statewide infrastructure for CHR-P care, bringing programs together to improve early identification, specialized assessment, referral pathways, workforce training, and access to evidence-based care.

Since 2022, M3P has helped expand both the number and geographic reach of specialized CHR-P programs while building a statewide learning network where programs can share expertise, training, data, and approaches to improving care.

The new four-year grant will allow the partnership to build upon that foundation and continue expanding its impact.听 M3P鈥檚 goal is to help identify young people earlier, connect them with the right level of support at the right time, and help them remain engaged in school, work, relationships, family, and their goals for the future.

鈥淲ith so much funding going away, we did not think we would be able to continue this program,鈥� said Catherine Klapatch, Assistant Director of Outpatient Services for 欧美日b大片. 鈥淭his grant will allow us to not only continue the program, but to expand it. To be able to bring together so many agencies to work together on this serious issue is really wonderful.鈥�

鈥淓ach group focuses on a different area of expertise, and together we can provide that early care to hopefully avoid a first episode of psychosis from occurring,鈥� Klapatch added. 鈥淲e are grateful to be part of this group.鈥�

The continued SAMHSA support provides valuable resources to help coordinate and advance this important work. 听At the same time, the progress M3P has made since 2022, and its ability to continue building a stronger system of early psychosis care, depends on the statewide partnership of programs, providers, young people, families, and organizations committed to this work.

By strengthening collaboration and expanding access to specialized care, M3P and its partners are working toward a future in which more young people receive support early, before symptoms become more severe and disruptive to their lives.

For the past 20 years, Paul Mubiru has been a dedicated and valued member of 欧美日b大片 team, bringing compassion, energy, and an unwavering commitment to helping others live meaningful lives. Today, Paul serves as the Health and Wellness Coordinator at C.W. Potter Place Clubhouse in Waltham and as a Human Rights Representative, roles that perfectly align with his lifelong passion for supporting people and advocating for those whose voices are often unheard.

Originally from Uganda, known around the world as the 鈥淧earl of Africa,鈥� Paul鈥檚 journey to 欧美日b大片 began with a strong educational foundation and a desire to make a difference. He earned a Bachelor of Education Administration and Psychology and a Diploma in Physical Education and Sports Management from Makerere University, one of Africa鈥檚 most prestigious institutions.

Even as a young professional working as a trainer and coach across a variety of sports disciplines, Paul knew his future would be in human services.

鈥淚 always wanted to work directly with people who do not have a voice or who have a disability,鈥� Paul says. 鈥淪ports became my tool for connecting with people and helping them grow.鈥�

Before joining 欧美日b大片 in 2006, Paul gained valuable experience volunteering and working with several organizations, including Eliot Community Services, WCI, hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. These experiences strengthened his commitment to serving vulnerable populations and ultimately led him to a career at 欧美日b大片.

Over the past two decades, Paul has worn many hats throughout the organization. In addition to his current roles, he has served as a Supported Housing Counselor, CBFS Residential Counselor, Relief Staff in various mental health group living environments, and ACCS Residential Counselor. His diverse experience has given him a deep understanding of the individuals and communities 欧美日b大片 serves.

When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Paul鈥檚 answer is simple: the people.

鈥淭he most rewarding aspect of my job is working directly with people,鈥� he says. 鈥淚t offers personal fulfillment by improving the lives of vulnerable individuals and helping them achieve their goals.鈥�

Outside of work, Paul鈥檚 passions are as diverse as his experiences. An avid golfer, he also enjoys spending time in nature, taking long walks, learning new things, and relaxing with family and friends. He is an enthusiastic cook who specializes in traditional dishes from Central Uganda while continually exploring cuisines from around the world.

Sports continue to play a major role in Paul鈥檚 life. Over the years, he has played and coached numerous sports, including soccer, basketball, tennis, and table tennis. He has coached high school, college, and university teams and won several championships along the way. Today, he still enjoys playing socially and values the connections he has made through athletics.

A passionate Boston sports fan, Paul proudly cheers for the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, New England Revolution, Boston Legacy FC, and the Connecticut Sun. He also follows Liverpool FC in the English Premier League.

His love of sports recently led to a unique opportunity. During the summer of 2026, Paul volunteered with the French National Soccer Team, 鈥淟es Bleus,鈥� during their training sessions at Bentley University as part of FIFA World Cup 2026 preparations. In recognition of his efforts, he was presented with a replica French National Team outfit.

Paul鈥檚 dedication to learning and supporting others extends beyond sports. In 2025, he received a scholarship through The Culinary Foundation of Western Massachusetts Collaborative Training Program for the Disabled while serving as a job coach alongside a Potter Place Clubhouse member at Bentley University.

Another remarkable aspect of Paul鈥檚 story is his commitment to lifelong learning and communication. In addition to speaking several Ugandan dialects and languages, Paul is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), and speaks some French, and Swahili. Never one to stop learning, he is currently studying Chinese.

Whether he is helping Clubhouse members achieve their wellness goals, advocating for human rights, mentoring others, or building connections through sports and culture, Paul embodies 欧美日b大片鈥檚 mission and values every day. Paul鈥檚 appreciation for diversity is reflected in how he views the world. 鈥淟ove for diversity to me is like an arrangement of color, shapes, and patterns that come together like musical notes,鈥� Paul explains.

Paul鈥檚 dedication, compassion, and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact on countless lives over the past 20 years, and we are grateful to celebrate his extraordinary contributions.

On Wednesday, August 19, 欧美日b大片 celebrated its Annual Summer Appreciation Event with an evening at Fenway Park.

Staff gathered for a beautiful summer night of baseball, camaraderie, and most importantly, a chance to celebrate the incredible employees who make 欧美日b大片鈥檚 mission possible every day. The group cheered on the Boston Red Sox as they took on the Arizona Diamondbacks from a private section reserved exclusively for Edinburg Center employees.

The evening was about much more than baseball. It was an opportunity for colleagues to step away from their busy schedules, relax, enjoy each other鈥檚 company, and celebrate the dedication and hard work that goes into supporting the individuals and families we serve.

As part of the evening, each staff member received a ticket that included a $25 loaded-value credit, which could be used toward food, beverages, or merchandise throughout the ballpark. Between the baseball, the Fenway atmosphere, great food, and plenty of cheering, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

While the Red Sox ultimately lost in 7鈥�6 in extra innings, the final score didn鈥檛 dampen the evening. Staff had a wonderful time cheering on the Sox, laughing with coworkers, and enjoying a night together at America鈥檚 oldest major league ballpark.

For the fifth consecutive summer, members of 欧美日b大片鈥檚 Meaningful Whole Life (MWL) program are serving as employees at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, N.H.

This summer, the MWL team is supporting six members at Canobie Lake Park: Courtney Lannon, Harold Ingalls, Bryan Given, Cledwyn (CJ) Jones, Ildevert Olivier, and Cameron Maillet. Three of the original team members, Lannon, Given, and Jones, are in their fifth consecutive summer of employment at the park.

鈥淭here is tremendous pride throughout the MWL Canobie Lake Park team,鈥� stated Chris Starnes, lead champion of MWL. 鈥淭heir success is a testament not only to their individual talents, but also to the power of creating employment opportunities that align with each person鈥檚 interests and goals.鈥�

MWL is a signature program of 欧美日b大片 helping people with brain injuries and intellectual disabilities take part in enjoyable activities that help them develop into a more complete person.

The partnership with Canobie Lake Park began with MWL鈥檚 comprehensive 360-Degree Interest Inventory, an assessment designed to gain a holistic understanding of what is important to each individual, what experiences they hope to have, and what opportunities they would like to pursue in their communities. Several MWL members expressed an interest in both visiting Canobie Lake Park and obtaining employment in the park. MWL reached out, and in the summer of 2022, the first midway sweeper team was established.

Each team member is assigned a designated area and is responsible for sweeping pathways, completing light trash removal, and assisting guests with general questions about the park. Most of the team works one day each week, on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., throughout the summer season.

Supported through 欧美日b大片鈥檚 Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) program, Lannon has continually advocated for additional responsibilities and opportunities at Canobie Lake Park. In addition to her Wednesday shift, she also works Fridays and has been employed during the park鈥檚 Screeemfest event for the past two years.

Screeemfest is a six-week Halloween-themed attraction held each fall, and Lannon hopes to return for her third season this year.

The Charles W. Potter Place Clubhouse welcomed community members, friends, and supporters for its first-ever Craft Fair on June 24, celebrating creativity, connection, and the talents of Clubhouse members.

The free event, which was open to the public, transformed Potter Place into a vibrant marketplace featuring artisan-made crafts and beautiful one-of-a-kind artwork created by talented members and local artisans. Guests enjoyed browsing unique handmade items while supporting the Clubhouse community and its mission.

In addition to the impressive selection of crafts, attendees enjoyed a bake sale, live performances, and a visit from a local ice cream truck, creating a fun and festive atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

The inaugural Craft Fair proved to be a tremendous success, drawing visitors from across the community. Among those in attendance were members from Elm Brook Place Clubhouse in Burlington, a group from Waltham Fields Community Farm, residents and staff from several Edinburg Center homes and programs, and many local community members.

The event also welcomed several distinguished supporters, including Sean Durkee, a Waltham City Councilor and Potter Place Advisory Board member; and Mike Audi of M&T Bank, who also serves on the Advisory Board. Their presence underscored the strong community partnerships that help make Potter Place a welcoming and supportive place for individuals living with mental health conditions.
